What to Expect
Our service begins at 10:00 am and lasts until about 11:05. Our atmosphere and dress is casual and we strive to make all feel welcome!
The Lord's Supper is an important part of our being a community around Jesus. Jesus welcomed and loved the crowds, but he called for his followers to remember him in the Lord's Supper. All those with personal faith in Jesus celebrate it each week using bread and choice of grape juice or wine. On the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, we have Communion seated to allow for more reflective time. After service we would love for you to stay for our CORE Sunday School classes for everyone - infants, preschool, students and adults - from 11:15 am to 12:00 pm. It's a great time to dive deeper into our faith and get to know each other better! |
Families
Children are an integral part of our community and are welcome in the entire service. On Sunday mornings children five years old and younger start worship with their parents.
They sing, recite the creed, and pray with us as a congregation. Then after music, creed, and brief announcements, they go to nursery or Pre-K class, where they get excellent teaching, memorize scripture, play fun games and make interesting crafts. Our classes for children focus on teaching kids about God’s truth and grace in a fun, encouraging, and supportive environment. We emphasize an interactive, biblically-based approach. Children older than five remain in the service and can use a children's bulletin and picture bible to help keep them engaged with worship and the sermon. |
Our Worship Experience
Our Sunday morning worship flows from several convictions. The grace and truth of Jesus Christ are both unmatched and deeply satisfying. Our Presbyterian heritage and reformed theological roots point us to classic worship elements from the scriptures, which have stood the test of time. But we believe there is room to renew and revive those elements with new approaches. Presbyterians like to do everything decently and in order, but we also long to meet with the Lord, experience his presence, and respond to him with passionate worship. Our service includes contemporary worship songs, hymns reset to new music, a classic creed, prayer, the Lord's Supper, and sermons that seek to be faithful to both the Bible and the needs and challenges of our particular time and place. But we also do some unexpected things: we intentionally have times of silence in worship, we seek to pray for the needs of our world, city, and church, and we have time to chat with those around us. We also have engaging and relevant discussions about the sermon passage in our Adult CORE class after the worship service, where we share thoughts, discuss questions, and consider applications together. We are passionately seeking to be a community that is faithful and fruitful in our worship of God through Jesus Christ. Come visit and tell us what you think!
